Thomas Multimedia is a web company based on the Gold Coast, Australia. Thomas Multimedia was officially established in 2005 while business founder Steve Thomas was studying at a local IT institute.
Since then, Thomas Multimedia has become a bustling web development studio, specialising in Website Development and Interactive Services. The focus of our business is website development, including our range of turnkey website applications that include Content Management Systems, Auction & Booking software, and Email Marketing.
Due to the rapid success of Thomas Multimedia, plans are underway to expand the business in several ways. If you are a talented web professional or student in Australia or even overseas, your enquiries are welcome into joining the evergrowing Thomas Multimedia Network. Just head to our contact us page.
Steve Thomas Steve is the founder of Thomas Multimedia, and ovesees and contributes to all projects. Steve is an all-rounder in website creation, with solid experience in web application development.
Jon Higgs Jon comes from a server administration background, and as well as looking after our numerous high-end production web servers, also contributes to ongoing website development.
Thomas Multimedia is extensively networked with web professionals of all types right around Australia and the world. While we can't quite call anyone else an "employee", virtually all projects involve consultation with experts in particular fields. The internet and websites being as diverse as they are, it's frankly unrealistic for someone to specialise in all areas.
Given the rapid growth of Thomas Multimedia, plans are well underway to bring more full-time people onboard.
Thomas Multimedia began as an idea many years ago for business founder Steve Thomas, in the country Australian town of Mildura. Making a sea-change to the Gold Coast after completing high school, Steve pursued higher qualifications in the field of Multimedia, in particular website development.
After over 10 years of formal and informal study related to web design and development, Steve has made a full time committment to web design & development, working with professionals from all walks of life. This opportunity has allowed the business to expand and establish contacts in all fields of multimedia.
"One of the most exciting and challenging aspects of being in web development, is that I constantly gain insight into how a large variety of traditional businesses operate. The challenge of finding solutions to make a business more efficient by harnessing the power of the internet, is the most enjoyable aspect in this line of work."

One significant factor in the business development has been working on websites that have vastly different target audiences. For example, OpalAuctions.com has a majority middle aged audience who tend to be slightly less internet savvy then their younger counterparts, meaning that everything about the site must be very obvious. These experiences have developed very good habits for our designs as a whole.
Even web developers come across some web sites and wonder what they are meant to do next. This indicates a failure by the site designer to communicate effectively.
At Thomas Multimedia, we are constantly striving to stay up with the latest advancements in internet technology. Check out our web design blog to read some topics of interest related to internet technology.
Naturally we spend alot of hours week in and week out, browsing the internet. Below is a collection of some of our favourite websites and how they are actively contributing to the future of the internet.

Of course everyone knows about Google, but what a lot of people may not realise is that behind the scenes, they are providing a lot of useful tools for web developers. We focus on Google over other search engines because not only do they dominate the bulk of search engine activity, but they have the most wide-ranging toolset to help website owners. We only hope that search providers will continue and even expand their efforts to work co-operatively with the web community.
